Germany Viessmann Group officially announced on April 26, 2023, Viessmann Group has signed a merger and acquisition plan with Carrier Group, planning to merge Viessmann’s largest business segment climate solutions company with Carrier Group. The two companies will work together to develop and advance in a highly competitive global market and become a leader in the climate solutions and comfort home market
After the merger, Viessmann Climate Solutions will leverage Carrier’s global network to gain access to a better supplier pipeline. In the long term, this will further increase the production of Viessmann’s climate solutions segment and significantly reduce the lead time, which is particularly important for decarbonizing the building stock in Europe and beyond. After this merger, Viessmann Climate Solutions will be stronger as an energy transition promoter. Electrification products and services from Carrier and its sub-brands (heat pumps, battery storage, refrigeration and ventilation solutions, as well as aftermarket, digital and value-added solutions) will complement Viessmann Climate Solutions’ premium offerings, which will provide a broader, complete product range for consumers around the world.
Of Carrier’s overall sales, 60 per cent come from North and South America and 23 per cent from Europe. Viessmann Climate Solutions will therefore be a major driver of Carrier’s business growth in Europe. The addition of Viessmann Climate Solutions will help Carrier to have highly differentiated channels, customer access and technological advantages, which will greatly strengthen Carrier’s strategy for the energy transition in Europe and transform Carrier into a purer, more focused, higher growth global market leader.
As a German brand that has lasted for 106 years with numerous business partners and loyal brand users, the Viessmann brand and Logo will continue to be owned by the Viessmann family and will be loaned to the Viessmann Climate business unit under Carrier. Carrier Group is willing to actively protect Viessmann’s brand image and brand independence.
As a mature and successful business, the Viessmann Climate Solutions Executive Committee and its leadership team will continue to operate the business under the leadership of the current CEO, Thomas Heim. Viessmann headquarters will continue to be located in Arendorf, Germany, and the corresponding Viessmann contacts for all countries and regions will remain unchanged. While other businesses of Viessmann Group remain unchanged, still belong to the Viessmann family independent operation.
The Fisman family will be one of Carrier’s largest independent shareholders. At the same time, in order to ensure the greater success of the company and the continuation of corporate culture, Max Viessmann, the CEO of Viessmann Group, will become a new member of Carrier’s board of directors, and the family business culture Viessmann adheres to will continue and shine.
By merging with Carrier, Viessmann Climate Solutions will have a broader scope for sustainable development
